6 Weeks Pregnant, No Heartbeat

Chels • 29| TTC baby #1| Tx.

So I found out I was pregnant on January 26. I was suppose to start my cycle on January 23. My last cycle was December 30. I went in today for my first appointment today (at supposedly 8 weeks). The doctor said the baby was measuring at 6 weeks and they didn’t see a heartbeat. I haven’t had any bleeding/spotting or major cramping. But my boobs/nipples don’t hurt as bad as they use to. I’m still very nauseous. Should I worry?

The odds of you miscalculating are more likely. Same thing has happened to Me twice. I thought i was 8 or close to 8 weeks and ended up a lot earlier . Rescheduled and both times , heartbeat was detected. Good luck ! 🍀

You may still be to early to Detect a heartbeat, I believe a lot of woman hear it from 6weeks 6days onwards! Was your doctor worried?

i thought this too but you can actually hear it at 6 weeks. i didn’t get that option but a lot of other ppl are offered the option to hear it, i was able to see my baby’s heart beating. i just think i didn’t get the chance to hear it because i had it done at planned parenthood and they have limited options

Yeah try not to worry ( I know easier said than done) but it could be just a little early! Good luck 🤞

6 weeks is early to hear a heartbeat, did they use a Doppler or was it an ultrasound? A Doppler won’t pick up the heartbeat until much later. I was 10 weeks and my doctor couldn’t find it, I had a dating scan the next day which was an actual ultrasound and everything was fine. I was at the doctor a few weeks later and they had to bring in a second doctor to find the heartbeat with the Doppler because baby is so small in the early stages. It’s stressful but it’s common. I’m 24 weeks now and babe is perfectly healthy. Unless it was an ultrasound, try not to stress until you get more tests done. Sending you good vibes for a healthy pregnancy ❤️

I’ve already been crying my eyes out. And she did an abdominal ultrasound first but said the baby was too small, so she went did a vaginal.

So some women will not see a fetal pole until 8 weeks. Wait until you have a better idea on of you need to do a dnc

Unfortunately this is called a missed miscarriage if it is true. These happen without warning and nothing we can do to prevent them. I'm sorry if this is the case. Did you have and transvaginal or abdominal ultrasound?

Well hopefully you ovulated later and things are okay but if not and your baby stopped growing and No heart beat then its not a good sign. I hope you have a another ultrasound scheduled and get better news

She did both. She did the vaginal because she said it was too small to see the other way. I also did another pregnancy test while there and it came back positive.
