Cramps for a week after period

Okay so I've been having cramps since my period ended last Tuesday. They are sometimes pretty sharp stabbing cramps. I went to the doctor yesterday and they did a pregnancy test but it came back negative (which I kinda figured it would) so they sent my urine out to test for other things like a uti. I haven't gotten a call back yet, but I just wanted to come on here and see what y'all thought it could be? I'm just confused and in a lot of pain.
