If I still do not start today then I’ll have missed my period completely but still had a negative test this morning: would you call the doctor and request blood work to check for pregnancy at this point? I’ve never missed a full period only been a day or so late max

No. Request a blood test when a pregnancy test from the store shows positive.

No, but that’s me. It’s not that uncommon to miss a period without being pregnant. Perhaps you didn’t ovulate this cycle or you did but it was much later than expected.
