If you have insulin controlled gestational diabetes, do you see a maternal fetal medicine doc?

I am 37 weeks now. Had my prenatal appointment and the check in nurse was concerned as to why I haven't been referred to maternal fetal medicine yet. It was never mentioned to me by anyone. Once the doc came in she asked if I was ever referred and mentioned they deliver between 37-38.5weeks with insulin controlled GD moms. But that was the end of it. Induction was never discussed nor was actually referring me anywhere. She left without giving me a chance to ask. She didn't even mention when to come back for my next appointment. At least I got to have a NST today (first and probably last). I'm told something different at every single appointment. So frustrating.
