For women pregnant while 40 or older

Did your doctor intentionally induce you early to prevent going full term? Like 3-4 weeks early? My cousin who is 40 just found out they are inducing her almost a month before her due date because they said it’s much riskier for women 40 or older to go full term? Her and baby are both healthy and baby is on track to be about 7 lbs but since she’s taking her early they’re estimating around 5 lbs. I had t ever heard of this so just looking for other experiences.
