Fever only symptom?

Question

Has anyone else’s babe had fever as their only symptom of illness? My daughter has had a fever in the 101-102 range for about 2 days now, but is otherwise acting totally normally. I also had a stuffy nose so I’m thinking we both just got a cold. Should I be concerned or give it another day or two? The nurse at the pediatrician brushed me off and said it was teething up to 102...currently looking for a new office.
(Yes we were both COVID tested, both negative).

I wouldn’t relate it to teething but I wouldn’t worry either. Try to remember a fever is the bodies natural defense for fighting against viruses and her body is doing exactly what it’s supposed to! If she’s acting fine I’d just wait it out, make sure she’s drinking enough etc

Is there a children’s urgent care you can maybe go to?  It’s shitty the nurse blew you off.  On my ped website it says teething doesn’t cause fevers.  I’d just be concerned that baby would get delayed treatment is she happens to get worse.

So I’m just going to say that is a misconception that teething alone causes fevers. Often times with teething, kids produce a lot of saliva which can in turn cause overproduction of mucous, which can lead to sinus infections or ear infections. Those can cause fevers, but it will generally be accompanied with other symptoms. My pediatrician explained this to me. I would treat the fever just because she’s so little still, just by giving some Tylenol. Otherwise I’d be keeping a close eye on her, watching for any other symptoms. But try not to worry too much, I’m sure she’ll be okay in a few days. Fevers can come up for so many reasons and it’s always a good sign that their little bodies are working properly. Keep us updated, and I’m so sorry the office treated you that way...not cool. 😥

This literally just handled to me this weekend. On Saturday my LO had a fever of 101 but was still up playing and laughing like usual then Sunday was the same except she was a bit more drowsy. That night she seemed extremely hot so I checked her temp and it was 102.2 I called the after hours nurse who said since she was acting normal it may not be necessary to come in them but to come in during regular hours the next day and give her 3.75ml of Tylenol . So we saw the de Monday and he checked her out everything seemed fine he said to just treat her at home and keep giving her Tylenol. She didn’t get tested for COVID because she doesn’t leave the house besides going to her grandma’s when we go to work. Her dr said there was a virus going around and it seems like she may have had that. She’s fine now no fever or other symptoms.
