Cesarean and still able to BF?

Question

So I'm probably going to have to have a C-section delivery and I was told by a family member that after hers she was put on pain pills that she had to wait two weeks after taking to start BF which the waiting made her dry up. Anyone who had a C-section, what was your experience afterwards with BF?

They won't give you anything that will harm the baby I've had two c-sections and breastfed until both kids were almost a year you will be just fine :)

Ask for a belt after surgery it really helps with the pain.. N my dr sent me home with tylenol codine which you Can take even while pg. So there was no harm to the baby

I didn't take any of the pain mess after my csection since they made me nauseous but I was able to feed almost immediately after the procedure.

Oh goodness!  Im sorry but that just is not true at all! I have had 3 c sections and breastfed my now youngest for 2 years  from the start. Most meds are still safe to breastfeed

I had a csection and nursed my baby in the hospital and up til 16 months. They give you medicine that is safe for nursing moms. As long as you stick with it nursing should go fine. It's s learning curve for both you and baby. Just don't give up to soon
