Baby Shower Question!

Hey so I'm waaaaayy far away from a baby shower but I was just thinking. Would it be rude to ask for diapers like as a diaper raffle? I'd insert it along with the invite but not actually on it and I saw a template that said "participation is optional." My mom said that by doing that, people will only bring diapers and nothing else. Do you ladies think that? Any experience/personal stories on how this would work? I would LOVE lots of diapers but it would probably suck to only get diapers at a shower lol.
