Would you rather have people around to help right after baby is born or have a couple weeks to adjust with just your spouse?

We live several states away from our families. I’m due in July with our first. My SO’s parents have offered to drive down right after we have the baby is born to help out (like hit the road as soon as I go into labor). His dad is a retired doctor and his mom hasn’t worked in decades so they can leave at the drop of a hat. They’re both already fully vaccinated for Covid and still being very careful so I’m okay with them seeing the baby right away health wise.

Initially I didn’t want any visitors for at least two weeks to give us some time to adjust, get the hang of breastfeeding, and just let my body heal some. I know my boobs are going to be out basically all the time for a while and am not super comfortable with my in laws seeing that...

However, now I’m seeing some benefits of having them come down right away. They could watch our dog while we’re in the hospital, they could drive us home from the hospital (we don’t own a car so were going to ask some friends for a lift), they could help with cooking and cleaning (I know they would actually do those things, they wouldn’t show up and expect us to be “hosts”).

I don’t know what to do, looking for advice from women who have been through this.
