Normal for being 7 weeks?!?

So I went to the doctor today and I believe I am 7 weeks as of today. My last period was October 12th. My doctor doesn't want to see me until the 17th, which would make me 9w3d and I'm nervous because I'm seeing people post on here that they can see the heart beat at 6 weeks. Is this normal to not be seen?!?

Being seen for the first time tomorrow at 9w4d. It's totally normal. There is more to see by waiting longer ☺️

Yes, you're usually only seen earlier if there are complications or if it's a high risk pregnancies. Normal pregnancies your first visit is usually somewhere between weeks 8-10.

No doctor where I love will see you until your 8-10 weeks so your fine. I have to wait two more weeks for my first ultra sound and it's killing me. I'm so impatient!

Hi ,

I had the same thing happen to me I got sent off for and ultra sound early at 7 weeks and they couldn't see a heart beat only a yolk sac and womb. I cried and cried . But rest assured I had more blood tests come back and they were certainly positive and my doctor was happy with them she said it was most likely too early for seeing the baby. I'm going back in 2 weeks for a scan at 10 weeks :) I've been told even a week can make a huge difference. Stay positive . Hope this helps

My doctor wouldn't see me until I was 12 weeks because there weren't any complications early on.

Not sure where everyone else is from but where I live (Northern Ireland) your first scan is at around 12 weeks. I was unlucky/lucky enough to be admitted to hospital with hyperemesis at 8 weeks though and got a sneak peek 😜

I didn't see my midwife till 10 weeks. The awesome thing about that is they were able to use a fetal Doppler at the first appt and got to hear the heartbeat. Most first appts don't include an ultrasound. It just depends on the Doctor though.

I wasn't seen until 10.3. It's very normal to not be seen until further along

My 1st appointment was about 7 weeks, but my first ultrasound wasn't till about 9 weeks either.

And even then that far along it only looks like a jelly bean and is super small. But approximately 3 weeks after conception the heart starts beating.

Normal for being 7 weeks?!?
