2 hour ultrasound? 16 weeks?

So I have my 16 week ultrasound tomorrow. The nurse said to expect it to be about 2 hours long?! What exactly is this ultrasound for? How long did yours take?

Just wanted to update in case anyone else has the same question. It was definitely a 2 hour anatomy ultrasound. Both girls looked great and are growing healthy.

I get the 2 hour ones once a month since 20 weeks. It's because with twins were more high risk, so the longer ones usually take an hour for one baby, but we have two so it's two hours. It's not too bad. Bring a snack if you get hungry often!

Possibly anatomy? Mine was 4 hours on my back the whole time :(

My 14 week and 18 week scans were about an hour or so but the one I had yesterday at 24 weeks was about 2 hours and 20 minutes. The tech told me they were taking 70 images of each baby😮

That's crazy! I guess they're more thorough depending on where you are? Lol 
I've been getting sonograms every month and once a week for the past 3 months and none have ever taken longer than 20-30 minutes tops.

I have my 16 week scan next week and the receptionist told me it would be 2 hours, 1 hour for each baby. It's also gender revealing!!!

I'm 31 weeks my anatomy scans have never taken that long!? That's interesting

I just had mine the other day 2+ hours cuz baby A was being a stinker! My belly got a little sore at the end and the next day! I recommend taking a tylonal after.

the anatomy scan wouldn't be at 16 weeks either. they can do one for gender but it's too early for a true anatomy scan where they measure everything
