Weird reaction ???

My husband was talking about the stimulus check and how he hopes they won’t take it for child support for our oldest who’s in a facility

(In PA we pay CS for our son who’s in a facility for troubled teens)

I said I doubt it, if they did they did they’d take his portion, not ours or the other kids...plus the first stimulus they didn’t

He started to go on ya but what if etc etc etc

I said well like I said before

He cut me off and said see why do you do that knowing saying “well like I said before is gonna piss me off!!!!”

I said I didn’t? I’m sorry I’m confused how? Why? I mean your dad does it all the time and you don’t get mad

He said see that’s different it’s not us it’s him who’s talking he doesn’t do things on purpose to irritate me!!

Me: *itching my chin*

Him: there we go with that head wobble acting like your smarter than me! Disregarding how something-makes me feel

Me: I didn’t wobble my head back and forth I was scratching my under my chin

Him: no you weren’t nope deny deny deny you wanna argue we will argue about how we are gonna split up then

Me: I’m not trying to argue I’m confused how what I said got to this point oh I’m sorry we were having a conversation and I was simply speaking

Him: there you go talking with your hands and talking in circles we aren’t on that anymore we are on the subject of how you disregard my feelings

Me: It’s because I don’t understand!!! I don’t something as simple as saying like I said before and boom you’re mad

Him: never said I was mad wooooooow you don’t get what I’m saying I’m mad because it’s YOU talking it’s YOU who said that making a snide remark to piss me off I don’t give a fuck who else says “what I said before” because it doesn’t matter

Me: that’s the thing it’s not a snide remark though I was talking we were talking ...why does it matter if it’s me

Him: yaaaaaaa Ikeep telling yourself that, you don’t think I know you better then you know yourself 😂😂😂 it matters because it’s YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep talking keep moving your head and talking with hands see how far that gets you acting like you’re so smart pffffftt you wanted to argue so here we are you said “like I said before” to make me feel stupid!!!

Me: I’m so confused and I did not I was just talking

Anyways I’m really shaken up because I don’t understand how a simple conversation went from normal to this argument and I never wanted to argue 🤷‍♀️
