Bikini area shaving tips

Any tips out there on how to NOT accidentally shave off my clitoris practically? LOL! I've been shaving down there myself since like middle school. I do it so it's easier to clean during mensing cycles. But I still have some patches behind where I can't get close enough without risking getting cut or chaffed. Should I use a small electric razor or just respect the sensitive places and leave them be? I hate hair. I try to space out shavings so I don't irritate my skin down there, too.
