paci??

I am looking for ideas to taking away the Paci. I’m taking it over my Spring Break (4 weeks away). He only uses it for naps and sleeping at night. Thoughts/Suggestions/Ideas 😃

We just took it away cold turkey-no more! Selfishly I was so exhausted of her tossing all of them out of her crib just so I would come in and save her from taking a nap. The first few days were hard especially naps & nighttime. I feel so much better because she wouldn’t sleep without it at all and god forbid if we went somewhere and forgot the paci- life was over😂

Cold turkey. He cried for like the first week very whiney about everything, but after that he was good. Recently he found his old pacifiers and tried sucking it for a minute then put it down he doesn’t like them anymore lol.

For ours, they had it during the day as well. One day we switched to only naps and bedtime. A week later we switched to only naps (supposedly the urge to sleep is stronger at bedtime), then a week later took it away at all times. Worked for my son at a year old, and my 3 year old daughter who was still using hers as well (and she LOVED them. We did it at the end of November and she still sometimes asks for a pacifier.

with our son we cut the tip of it and he lost interest as it doesn’t feel the same anymore. Our daughter we just stopped giving it to her cold turkey.
