What can I take?

So, I’m only 7 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with HG. I am taking Zofran and it has been a miracle!! However, now I am horribly constipated! I haven’t pooped in about 4 days and it’s starting to become uncomfortable. My doctor is honestly just a hassle to deal with, so I am in the process of switching doctors. In the meantime, is there anything pregnancy safe that I can take? I need a laxative for sure. I have been taking fiber supplements and eating plenty of fruits and veggies.

decrease your zofran intake and re ask your doctor about it, my doctor won’t prescribe it at all before 10 weeks due to possible heart complications with the baby. it’s a miserable few weeks waiting to take it but worth it. i was taking 8mg of zofran 2-3x a day in my first pregnancy and noticed it eventually made me really constipated and it sucked! i started splitting them in half and even started to try to only take when really really needed (but i really needed it like every 6-8 hours i was so nauseous) but it seemed to help. this pregnancy i asked for 4mg zofran right off the bat and she let me know they couldn’t prescribe until 10 weeks.
i don’t want to scare you but i’d definitely ask your doctor if you’re too early to take it. that’s the only thing i did with my angel baby that i didn’t know.. i was taking my leftover zofran from my first pregnancy (not expired or anything) but i was before 10 weeks and my baby didn’t make it. i never put two and two together until i got pregnant after that and asked for a refill and she said i had to wait, so id just recommend asking for peace of mind is all

I take 8mg of zofran every 8 hours and have since 5 weeks.  I eat a lot of pears as I’m craving them and they always get me going.  A cup of coffee each morning helps too .  Docusate is a stool softener you can try.  I know some women go as far as an enema.  I know an occasional dose of certain laxatives is okay but you’d have to call your doctors and see which ones are safe and what the max dose is during pregnancy
