How many of us are OKAY with our man having a friend/friends of the opposite sex?

I guess it depends on the woman or maybe his past (trust issues and etc) but i'm perfectly fine with it. Not that he needs permission but us women always have an opinion!

I would be happy with it if I knew they were friends before me but I'd be a lot more wary if it was a new female friend

i think it's such an insecurity when girls don't let their SO have girlfriends... girls and guys can just be friends.

I have male friends, he has female friends. I'm in good terms with the people I dated  (doesn't mean I hang out with them). As long as you trust each other, and you feel secure with your relationship I don't think it matters.

I was cheated on after 5 kids and 9 years. I'm not opposed to my new husband having female friends to a degree. ....but no,  he can't hang out with them or chat on the phone or text. He is okay with that because he knows what I've been through and isn't interested in having relationships with women who aren't me. He's a good man. But I pretty much feel like a person shouldn't put themselves in questionable situations,  no matter how innocent the beginning intention is.

For the record,  before my ex cheated,  I felt the same way many here do. I was secure in my relationship. I had no need to worry. My trust didn't cause him to cheat or anything. But I think it's a little bit ignorant to think that relationships with other people don't mayer at all just because he is married and made a promise.

I'm remarried and secure in my relationship. I don't stalk my husband or check his phone or screen his friends. I know there are women out there he will talk to through work or school and whatever and that type of conversation doesn't bother me. We also have lots of couple friends we do things with together.  But yes,  I would be uncomfortable If he decided to start hanging out with a woman without me,  or have long phone or text conversations. I just think that's asking for trouble.
