High HCG at 5 weeks?

Posting this for a friend... She went in this week at 5 weeks for blood work and her HCG was 85,000! They told her that’s very high. She has a scan on Wednesday but wondering what it could be? I’ve heard high HCG could be twins, or it could mean she’s further along than she thought. Anyone have this experience? And how did you pregnancy turn out? Did anyone ever have high HCG like this and just wind up with one baby?
