What to feed a 8 mo old baby

Question

My son is turning 8 month old next week. What are some foods I can feed him then? Currently he’s just getting milk and purée. Once in a while I give him peanut butter puffs and eggs. I was thinking making him some chicken and rice congee. Obviously I would blend the rice and chicken to almost like a purée consistency but I’m not sure if that’s a good idea since i would be adding salt to the congee?

No honey, excess salt & sugar should be limited, but if it’s not processed for seasoning the food with salt is fine. No hard round objects like whole peanuts or grapes. 
Pretty much everything else is fine. I wouldn’t be serving purées at this point, they need to start practicing with different textures.

Look into Baby Led Weaning. You do want to watch salt content, but baby can have chicken and rice without it being puréed. There are proper ways to cut and serve foods so you will want to research it a bit. I like the page Baby Led Weaning for Beginners and Beyond (BLWBB) on facebook. It’s a learning group and they have a ton of resources.

if you can mash it between your thumb and index finger they can eat it. so avocados, strawberries, peas, bananas, etc. there’s a lady on tiktok that shows what her 6+month old eats if i find her account i’ll comment it !
