Are these signs of autism?
I’ll start off my telling you a bit about my daughter. She’s 21 months old, she doesn’t walk yet, she can say a ton of words, she’s very intuitive, makes eye contact, extremely expressive, very affectionate, loves her stuffies and her puppy very much, and seems like a normal toddler to me. She does do some things that I thought were normal until I seen a few videos on Instagram of the early signs of autism.
So my daughter has always flapped her arms when excited, she still does it. She will flap her arms and open her mouth and do this kinda shaky thing, she also puts her hands out in front of her and opens and closes them in almost a wrist flicking motion all the time (she’s done this since she was about 3 months) and her favourite thing to do is move things either from one end of the room to the other over and over again or take things out of a container and then put them back in over and over again for hours.
Should I be concerned? I mean I never would have had this in my mind if I hadn’t seen the videos on Instagram but now it’s literally all I can think about.
And just a side note we have taken her to a paediatrician regarding her not walking yet and turns out she’s double jointed which could be causing her to struggle a bit. She has no interest in even trying to walk tho 🤷♀️
