Daycare experiences ?

My MIL had been watching my son during the work day but that has come to an end (she almost fell on my son after my husband told her not to move because he was right under her feet and she didn’t listen- lots of drama- the end lol) 
That said, we are going to have to start daycare in the next 2 weeks or so most likely because i don’t think we will make it at home with him and working longer than that. It seems like there’s a decent amount of separation anxiety going on right now so it feels like the least ideal time to start daycare. I just cry thinking about him wondering where I am and if I’m coming back. I’m sure it’s mostly in my head and he will be fine bur looking for reassurance. Due to covid, on day 1 we can’t even go in to make sure he’s settled and happy before we leave. We literally have to drop him at the door outside and hand him over. Doesn’t make it any easier. 
Also, how has covid been at your daycare? Any cases amongst the kids? This also makes me nervous. I’m in the northeast abs covid is getting worse again, not better.

Its hard. Not gonna lie. I sent my babe starting at 6months, and due to covid my daycares the same way. He’s 9months now, and I’ve only been inside his daycare once-and that was after hours for the tour)  But, he loves it and it def does make it easier when I drop him off in the morning and he’s got a big smile on his face when the teachers come out to get him. Im also in the northeast, Massachusetts, and theres only been 2 cases at my daycare and they were the older kids. We do have to temp our baby every morning and fill out a form with the “covid questions” so i feel like this has been a great tool to prevent any spread!

My daughter has been going to a learning center since she was 12 weeks old and it’s the best! Her teachers and all of the staff are so amazing and caring. Most of them have actually added me on facebook🤣 I feel like my daughter has learned so much from watching the other kids, she has no problem with other people, they do arts and craft with her through out the week and now she is on a schedule that we follow on the weekend!
I will say that is so odd that they won’t make an exception for the first day drop off, I’m sure you have but have you tried asking them if you can?

Honestly, sending my son to daycare is the best decision we could make! He is happier and on the schedule. He eats and sleeps better and he doesn’t even feel that I am not there. They take so many precautions because of COVID which is plus. Fir instance they clean more than they use to and check temperature regularly. I say it’s going to be hard on you but he will love it.
