How long can you take letrozole?

Does anyone know if femara/letrozole can be taken every month for IUI or timed intercourse? RE’s probably would cut you off after a certain number of attempts, huh?
My AFC has dropped drastically. It’s abysmal. My hopes of IVF probably has come to an end, so I’m wondering if I can take letrozole to hopefully get two follicles instead of one each month.

I did one round of clomid and 3 rounds of letrozole before going to my RE. There was about a month break in there and we tried about 3 more rounds of letrozole and I wasn’t ovulating. We took another break and tried clomid and letrozole combined and that worked. I had 2 miscarriages from cycle 1 and 3 of that combo so we took a longer break and then tried again. Cycle 4 resulted in my current pregnancy and I’m about 12 weeks.

I have my first cycle this month. My doctor said we’ll try it for 3-6 cycles- she didn’t have a hard stop. Assuming she’ll see how i react to it first.

I would try it once and see if it agrees with you. Ive taken it twice and had my symptoms get worse with each encounter. This last time I got blister like skin rashes and had to discontinue.

I visited 2 clinics.   One allowed 3 cycles and one allowed 6.     The medications can cause negative side effects and carry risk factors you highly want to consider before taking any longer.

I thought it was 3, but I see people on here taking it longer. It’ll depend on your doctor.

My doctor let us do Letrozole 5 times before moving on. It doesn't have as hard of a limit as Clomid. Some people do it longer, depending on their situation.
