Is it weird to name your baby after your dad?

We’ve chosen our babies first and middle names to be both of our dads names. Now I’m wondering if it’s weird? And if the dad/grandpa who got the middle name not the first will feel bad for not being the first name? Am I over thinking it!? I’m being induced in 2 days so we gotta get a name decided!!

I'm named after my dad (Madeleine George). my parents divorced when i was 5, i don't really like my dad but I like my name. 
don't overthink it. it'll become their own name no matter where you got it from.

My baby GIRL is named after my dad who died from colon cancer when I was 14. He was named Charlie so it still fits. Soooo... no, it's 100% not weird at all!

It is not weird in my opinion. As far as which name comes first I I would try it our both ways. For an example the names are Nicolas and John it would be Nicolas John or John Nicolas depending on which version I like better.

Not weird! My nieces are named after their grandfathers, middle names only... Charlize (Grandpa middle name was Charles) and Luisella (Grandpa was Louis)

In Greece and in other countries it is tradition to name babies after grandparents so not weird,although I hate that and didn’t do it

You’re over thinking it, it’s no big deal to name the baby after whoever you want. My dad died when I was 16 and he was my best friend. If I have two sons, the second will be named after him. The first my husband wants a junior.

Not weird at all. My sister gave my nephew has my dad’s and my grandpa’s middle name. Thought it was really cool actually.

my son’s name is both our dad’s names. he goes by a different nickname, in honor of my grandpa so he’s got like triple family names. i’m being induced on friday and debating using my brothers name for baby 2 lol boys are sooo hard to name
