When Should I Let My Almost 5 Month Old

When can I let her start putting herself to sleep. Her bedtime is 8. I’ve feed her, burped and changed her. Rocked her to sleep, put her down. Up 10 mins later. I’m tempted to let her put herself to sleep, but feel selfish if I do that 🤷‍♀️

Try it! My son has been doing it for like 2 or so months with no tears. He would fight me while I rocked him. One day I just put him down and he was asleep in 10 minutes. He has been doing it ever since.

I’ve been putting baby down awake but sleepy, in a dark room, with her paci and white noise machine, since she was 3 weeks. Sometimes we play the pacifier game when she’s fighting her sleep, but when I get her wake windows right she’s a good little independent sleeper. I believe 5 months is the recommended age for actual sleep training if that’s what you’re talking about. Good luck!
