Felon trying to get a job
Hi ladies! I posted last week about felons getting jobs despite their history and got a lot of great feedback and was hoping I could get some more advice and feedback. The initial interview went great and HR said they are going to move forward with the hiring process and will conduct a background check and drug test and give a tour of the facility. I wrote up an email to send to HR, disclosing all information.
Keep in mind this is for my fiancé, and I helped him with wording the email. He knows I am posting about this and looking for feedback.
I wanted to thank you for your time and consideration in this hiring process. While moving forward I know that a thorough background check will be taking place and I would like to be forthcoming and transparent with my prior history. In the year 2010 I was charged with statutory rape. While in high school I was 18 and had a girlfriend who was 15, and made poor decisions. I take full responsibility for my actions and have since grown as a person and an individual. I will be removed from (state) sex offender registry in May of 2022. I am currently seeking to continue to better myself as a family man with two children and as a devoted significant other. This would be an amazing opportunity for myself as well as my family.
If given the chance I would be able to show you and (company name) that I am a dependable, hard worker. I would love to be a part of this team and continue to strive to be better than I was the day before.
Again, I appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to speaking with you again soon.
Thank you,
