How do you view the use of credit cards and debt? (Read post)
The American millennial (ages 25-40) has an average of $27k in consumer debt (not including mortgages or student loans). Debt can be a life-finance altering situation, but in many cases people can view their debt with very little concern.. put it on the credit card, worry later.
Outside of the most common debt—mortgage and student loans—What is your outlook on debt? Is there debt you justify and debt you don’t? If you have debt, how much stress (if any) does it cause you? Do you view debt as irresponsible or as just a part of everyday financial services?
Here is the meaning behind the shortened poll answers:::
I don’t keep debt - answer this if you don’t use a credit card or carry debt, and essentially pay your bills in cash/check/debit.
It’s convenient - if you use credit cards just for perks (miles, cash back, etc) and pay your balance off in full each month.
It makes life better/nice - if you use credit cards or loans to pay for things you can’t immediately afford (don’t have the cash for) but WANT, so you justify whatever fees or penalties you may end up with if you don’t pay it off in full or on time.
Required to meet needs - if you use credit cards or loans to pay for the most basic of human needs because you have fallen on hard times or mismanaged your income to such a degree that you need to rely on debt to get your needs met
Other - hopefully that is clear, but explain why the options don’t apply to you
