Should I apply to more than 1 school’s nursing program?

I’m about to take my last 2 pre-reqs for nursing school. I will be eligible to apply either for the fall semester or spring semester, it just depends on my GPA. I’m young and not really sure how this works but should I be applying to more than 1 school and their nursing program just to increase my odds of getting in? That way if I don’t get into my top picked school I might still have another chance at the other one? I’ve seen some students on here talking about it and I never knew you could do that..
