How many of each size diapers do you need?

I know you probably need wayyy more newborn diapers than you will the other sizes but I don’t want to have too many diapers from the baby shower because a lot of people are getting newborn diapers so I’m not gonna buy a lot of those.

You won’t need many newborn diapers. They grow out of that fast unless preemie. I would get more size 1. You can always exchange diapers at the store to get the proper size.

I actually went through size 3 the most. I kept track 😆. My daughter was 6 pounds 4 ounces when born and is a slow and steady grower. We went through around 580 newborn size diapers, 1200 size 1, 1100 size 2, and about 1400 size 3 in the first year. She is still in size 3 at 16 months, weighing about 19 pounds currently. We go by fit and not necessarily by the weight on the package. 
My daughter hates wet diapers so she gets changed often, that has a bit of an impact on how many we went through.

Ask friends and family for size 1 and up on your registry. I have 4 packs of newborn, the hospital usually send you home with diapers as well all my other sizes are 1-4

I wouldn’t recommend getting a lot of newborn diapers. My boys were both born 8lbs so were only in newborn diapers for like a week lol. We went through a few boxes of size one and size two though.

I only used 1-2 packages of newborn diapers with my first two (6 lbs 8 oz and 7 lbs at birth).  Sizes 2 and 4 would be what I used the longest.  I wouldn’t stock up though as there’s some diapers you’ll hate or your kiddo could have a sensitivity to.  My third could only use honest. My second couldn’t handle pampers while my first did best in pampers

For my 6 month old, it went like this:
Newborn- almost a month(abt 3 weeks)
Size 1- 1 month
Size 2- 1 month
Size 3- almost 3 months, about 2 1/2 I believe
Size 4- he's in this size now
He was born 8 lbs 6.8 oz. He's about 21 lbs now.

Each of my kids varied so much. One practically skipped size 1, another skipped size 2, my last baby never used N but her sister used them for awhile. I would just buy 1 box of N and 1 of 1s and buy online as you need. Everyone has free 2 day shipping now, so stocking up is obsolete anyway.
