Murder, constant trauma, brutality.
I have been absent for a few days but keeping up with the news and watching posts.
I wanted to bring up something that I haven’t considered yet. Do you think that black people (I’m black so only speaking on what I know) are in a constant state of dealing with PTSD (PTSS)?
From the constant videos showing police on power trips, murders left and right, constant protests, guard always up. I honestly feel like I’m constantly on edge like I have to double/triple check my surroundings and if I see cops I’m going out of my way to avoid them.
Yesterday while being extra cautious we took the kids out and there was a cop who’s job was securing the area and he had on a mask. A mask with the blue stripe which represents “blue lives matter) and I couldn’t help but shake my head and just keep an eye on him to make sure that we all left the event safely and alive.
I hate that feeling but I’m thinking on a national level this is becoming the norm.
