Is there a chance the epidural will work for me?

I’m having my second baby in June and the epidural didn’t work for my first. It numbed contractions but I felt every second of the 2 hours of pushing and my third degree tear. And the hour of pain when they stitched me up afterwards (refusing to give any alternative relief until it was almost done 🙄)
Is there a chance it’ll work this time or should I not even bother?

Yes. It should. I also felt my labor and pushing. It was still quite painful.

My first one didnt work second one worked instantly.. i think it has alot to do with placement

My doula told me the epidural isn't supposed to affect how you feel pushing (so you can push safely)

If they took an hour to stitch you up you need a new OB! They sound like quacks. But yes it should work. And like others said you should still feel when you push so you know when yo push.

I wouldn't bother. I tried with all three of my kids and the epidural didn't work wirh any of them!

Hopefully it will work the second time. With my first baby I still felt contractions and it was pretty bad. I just had my second baby and it was alot better. Maybe the doctor missed the spot they should have been in?

Same ! Due in June also and wanted to know if I should even get an epidural again. I was 18 when I had my first and I felt everything I also had to get stitches 😩
