I’m a virgin but I masturbate pretty regularly. I’ve never been able to orgasm on my own so I recently bought a vibrator. With the vibrator, I find that I get to a point where I shake, convulse, my breathing gets rapid, and oftentimes theres a gush but other than that there’s not really a sense of “release”. These symptoms immediately go away once I pull my vibrator away. Is this an orgasm? If so, I don’t see the big deal 😭

Just to make sure:
You use your vibrator on your clitoris, not inside your vagina? Your clitoris is your pleasure organ. Your vagina is mainly for making and delivering babies.
You need to explore and discover how your body likes stimulation. Not every woman is the same. And what your body likes probably is different throughout your session. Most women will like gentle indirect stimulation when the session starts, and quite hard and direct stimulation around orgasm. There are hundreds of different ways you can touch yourself. From what (finger tip, finger, muliple fingers, palm of your hand), where (lips, above clitoris, over clitoris, on clitoris, next to clitoris, lips, vaginal opening) , motion (circles, up and down, accross, tapping, squeezing, rubbing, presing), speed, pressure etcetera.
So how do you figure this out? You start by taking a mirror and taking a good look at yourself. Everything is gorgeous and your genitals are a perfect for making and delivering a baby, and for giving yourself and a partner incredible pleasure. Google for a diagram of female genitalia and find all the “parts” on your body. Once you are comfortable looking at just how wonderful your body is, you can begin exploring. Make sure you are private and comfortable, take your time and start touching yourself in different ways. Concentrate on how it feels, and try to make the feeling better and better.
You can use a bit of saliva as lubricant if needed, or you can use a personal lubricant you buy from your pharmacy or super market. You may also be able to use the arousal fluid coming out of your vagina for this.
An orgasm is the release of the tension and stress that built up in your muscles and brain. While you stimulate yourself, thousand of electrical signals flow into your brain along your nerve systems. Your breathing, heart rate, blood pressure will increase. Tension will build up in your muscles. You may experience shaking and spasms from all the nerve signals flowing into your brain and the tension in your muscles. And then at some stage, something amazing happens - your brain experiences a short period of a trance like state, allowing all that tension and stress to resolve itself and leave your body whyle feel good hormones are released in your brain and body. This is often experienced as very pleasurable contractions rippling outwards from your clitoris or uterus. This may be accompanied by some heat and it lasts for at least a few seconds, getting weaker and weaker until it stops, leaving you happy, satisfied, relaxed, maybe sleepy, maybe glowing..
But to get here, you need to start with self acceptence, discovery and exploration.

Use it to explore and discover what you and your body likes. An orgasm is a bonus until you are completely comfortable with yourself. When you get bored or do not make progress, stop and try again another time.
Since you are still very young, I would suggest putting the vibrator away for a while, and using your fingers, hands, imagination and fantasies until you have figured it all out. Then you can start experimenting with other things.
