The daughter:  Yeah, dads mad because mom kissed my Uncle Derek. So he's been going over to the neighbors house. Mom found out he's been visiting the neighbor and yelled at him for it, but dad said she can't complain because she's a 2 cent whore. The neighbor lady is pregnant and mom isn't happy about it. I guess she doesn't like pregnant people. She told dad if the neighbor lady doesn't get an abortion than she's leaving and dad said he hopes she enjoys his brothers HIV

Whoa! Poor kid!
My friend is a nanny and is dealing with this scenario too. She’s pretty much raised these kids. Mom has always been all over the place. Wealthy family, mom is home sitting around doing nothing while my friend raises the kids, does the household chores, etc. mom met a guy in aa and is waiting for the divorce to be final and move the kids an hour away and get remarried ASAP

Poor kid. Just keep it neutral, don’t instigate, don’t get involved, and just try and play it called the kid basically and keep it breezy. The last thing you want is them going to their parents saying that you told her some thing and making them mad and not only firing you but complicating your life. Just saying exactly how you were doing it, I’m sorry kiddo, that kind of thing, I hope things get better. Yes it’s interesting, yes she feels comfortable talking to you, that’s a good thing, but do not advise her to do anything, don’t get involved, she obviously feels comfortable talking to everyone and will also share your life story with everyone as well, so keep that in mind. The last thing you want is: did you tell my kid that I should do this or that. Do not advise or air your dirty laundry or she’s gonna tell everyone. Just keep it breezy and try and be there and keep her occupied. Hey do you want to get some ice cream. How about we go to the park. Etc.
