Hello, new here FTM, DD 4/19/21 C-S 4/13/21.

All was going well, my blood pressure was a little elevated before going in, got my spinal and the doctors went to work. My son came out just fine. My uterus on the other hand did not contract, my blood pressure spiked, i hemorrhaged, they pumped me full of meds to help it contract. nothing. I lost 4pts of blood, my husband said I looked dead. My doctor told my husband I might lose my uterus & ovaries. I was AWAKE the entire time, shaking from the shock and still talking. After stitching my uterus shut and down I was transferred to the Radiology suite where My uterus was Cauterized bi-laterally, again still awake still talking but completely out of it. Thank god it worked, at this point I am throwing up and having my entire bowels empty on the table. Telling myself and anyone who would listen just take it 5 minutes at a time, I initially thought this lasted about to 2.5 hours, come to find out After I was transferred to the SICU it was 7.5-8 hrs. I barely remember seeing my son. I was held there in the SICU for over 24hrs with no contact from my son. Every doctor/nurse who came in was shocked I survived. I spent 4 days total Tuesday -Friday in the hospital. I don’t think it has hit me what happened, I feel it wanting to but I have my beautiful boy and that’s all that matter. My husband is traumatized and im heartbroken bc he’ll just look at me and cry. No one can explain to my why this happened, up until I walked into the hospital I had a perfectly normal pregnancy and am a very healthy person.
