Period after miscarriage

We just miscarried last week, at 5 weeks. I finally stopped cramping and bleeding today.. Does your period return on your normal date or will it be a different day? Mine usually comes on the 10th. Also My Dr advised to wait 2 cycles, is this what y’all did?? I have read stories/have friends tell me they got pregnant 1 cycle after miscarrying and you having an higher chance to conceive sooner rather than waiting. I maybe finding a different OBGYN soon..
