PCOS and breastfeeding
My doctor believes I may have PCOS. I had a prior miscarriage and this pregnancy I had low progesterone so I was put on vaginal suppositories 1st trimester and oral progesterone until 15.5 weeks, along with metformin 1st trimester. Currently, I have gestational diabetes as well.
I’ve read there can be difficulties with breastfeeding when a mother has PCOS. How can I ensure prenatally that’s not an issue? I know some women leak during their third trimester and that’s not the case for me. I also know that’s not indicative of my future ability to breastfeed but I am worried. Any tips to ensure I can breastfeed? Or helpful breastfeeding tips? This is something I desperately want to do.
