Elderberry?

My bf has tested positive for covid, has anyone taken elderberry gummies? Google keeps given me mixedreviews. I would call my on call doctor back and ask but he was such an ass hole on the phone when asking questions about being exposed

My doctor told us when we had covid in January to take vitamin c, vitamin d3 and zinc.

Definitely do vitamin D, several scientific studies have come out showing how vitamin d prevents severe symptoms

I took the syrup 1-2x a day for a few days when I was pregnant when my kids were sick. I cannot advise if it's completely safe as I honestly didn't ask my dr about it, but I had no issues.

I read that elderberry should not be used while you are sick for some reason, and that it should only be used when you are healthy to prevent being sick. 
Zinc is most important, followed by Vit D and C, as other commenters have said!
