At what point in your treatment did the Doctor suggested using an egg donor would be the most likely way that you’d be able to conceive?

Long story short, my husband and I have been ttc for 5 years. Between a chemical pregnancy,  surgeries, diagnosis of stage 4 endo, 6 months of clomid, IUI’s, egg retrieval’s and transfers.
After this past retrieval we had 10 follicles- and all of them had an egg. Of course we were elated. But then the IVF rollErcoaster starts and only 3 were mature and only two fertilized. Our plan was to push them to day 5 but unfortunately they weren’t looking all the best and froze them at day 3.
So this is when my doctor suggested we use donor eggs, that mine are too compromised from the endometriosis.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Or what made your doctor suggest that you should use a donor egg?

I feel like a broken record because I always suggest this to people and I KNOW nothing about this infertility road is a one size fits all.  But I also know I was willing to give about anything a try, within reason.  Anyway, between my first and second retrieval I used HGH (human growth hormone/omnitrope) and it made a tremendous difference in my egg quality.  (Resulted in a healthy baby girl).  I have since used it again, trying naturally, and have a healthy pregnancy thus far.   I’m certainly not saying it’s the end all be all. But for me, it’s pretty close.   I know this doesn’t entirely answer your question, if at all. But we are all in this together, and I always wanted to glean as much info as possible from people. My first retrieval failed with nothing making it past day 3 - all of our tests prior were normal and we were unexplained infertility with maybe suspected Endo but never diagnosed. The doctor from my first retrieval failing immediately suggested donor eggs and said it would be highly unlikely I'd have my own genetic baby. I got multiple opinions from other doctors in my area and did tons of research. I researched donor eggs /costs, adoption, donor embryos, everything under the sun. I ended up switching and putting "all my eggs in one basket" for one last round with my own eggs, I didn't want to have any regrets or what ifs. My new doctor did an aggressive protocol which included lupron depot 2 months prior to suppress any endometriosis, and she added in human growth hormone. My response was much better and we had 5/6 fertilized make it to blast . 3 were good quality 2 were discarded lower than a C grade. We didn't genetic test and our first transfer worked. 
I'm so sorry you're going through this. It really was the hardest time trying to figure out what was the right road to go down. You need to weigh your options and figure out what's best for you. 💜
