IVF/PGD with Neurofibromatosis type1

Jess

So hubby and I were referred to a fertility specialist after been trying for over a year.

We will be doing PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) through IVF. Is there anyone who is in Australia that I can connect with to talk to about what the costs and emotional/ physical toll I have in store for me. I know that it is very expensive from the research I’ve done.

The reason we are choosing PGD with IVF is because it is a 50/50 chance of passing this horrible genetic condition on. My mum and sister also have it and my mum was the first in our family to get it. I know that this genetic disorder can have a huge range of complications and knowing what I’ve been through I would never want my child going through that.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
