terbutaline injections to stop preterm labor? Safe? Freaking out!
I went into L&D today because I thought my water broke early (33 weeks) that wasn’t the case but I was having consistent contractions, I couldn’t feel them but the monitor showed them. They gave me a shot of terbutaline to stop the contractions and then discharged me. Once I got home I looked up the medication and saw the FDA does not approve that for stopping preterm labor because it causes maternal death and neurological disorders in the baby. I am freaking out now because that was not told to me and I feel like I just hurt my baby. 😢😢 has anyone had this shot and had things be fine??
