PSA: Mental illness misconceptions!

OCD is NOT being clean and orderly. It’s not wanting things a certain way. It’s not being a perfectionist. It’s also not a verb. So no, you’re not “OCD about how you make your kids lunch”

Narcissism is NOT being manipulative, cocky, or overly confident. So no, your mom isn’t narcissistic because she “only thinks about herself”

Bipolar is NOT just having mood swings sometimes. So no, your boyfriend isn’t bipolar because he “gets angry then happy again sometimes”

Borderline personality disorder is NOT multiple personality disorder (which isn’t even what the diagnosis is called anymore)

Phobias are NOT just something you don’t like or that grosses you out.

I feel like I see people all over this app throwing around diagnosis like crazy but they aren’t used correctly. It’s so important, especially in these times, to educate yourself on these things or not mention diagnosis at all. It discredits the severity of people who actually struggle with these things. I’m over it.
