Would you get the vaccine?

Question

I am ttc for baby 2 so I’m worried about getting the vaccine incase of side effects etc. Covid is really high in my area so I’m really unsure what to do. Also nervous given the lack of research into long term effects years down the line.

I’ve gotten it, I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant. I’m fine, baby’s kicking. I think about it in two ways- first, pregnant people are more likely to get hospitalized for covid, and 5-6 times more likely to be in the ICU, needing ventilation. Second, if there are any side effects, I will do whatever it takes to help my child but I have to be around to help them. One more thing to consider- most of the time they say pregnant people shouldn’t do something because they havn’t done studies on it due to ethical standards, and right now they actually are: they’re monitoring people who had become pregnant in the original trials, and also the health care workers who were among the first to get the vaccine once it had been approved. There have been no complications so far. 
That’s why I got the vaccine.

We had been trying for number 2 for six months. Still not pregnant so we decided to take a break and I just got my second dose Friday. My Dr said to wait 6 weeks now and then we can start trying again. If we were to have gotten pregnant I would have probably gotten the vaccine in the second or third trimester. We are doing everything we can to stay healthy because my Grandpa was just diagnosed with a rare stage 4 cancer.

Any side effects of the vaccine are less likely than side effects of having covid while pregnant! I'd get it in the 2nd or 3rd trimester and it will give ur baby antibodies!! I wouldnt want covid while pregnant and I'm more worried about covid long term effects on baby than any vaccine!
