What political *issues* are important to you?
Some of us know each other's political affiliations by now, but let's forget that for a moment. We keep polling what candidates people like, when we should be discussing issues.
Labels/branding are powerful. One example that shows this are modern Pepsi-Coke taste tests. People who say beforehand that they prefer Pepsi usually pick the Pepsi-labeled bottle in taste tests -- even when it actually had Coke in it! Coke drinkers do the same. Do we do the same for candidates? Do we pick them by their Republican/Democrat or conservative/liberal labels before figuring out what they really stand for?
Anyways, you're welcome to answer any of that above, but I'm really interested in what issues are most important to you. So, if you want, list your top 3 issues that are important to you below *without* listing your political leaning. Try to be specific (e.g., not "the economy" but "personal income tax" or "domestic employment" instead). I'll bet we'll find more common ground with each other than those candidate topics would indicate. Or not, we'll see.
