Silicone bras while nursing?

Anyone use silicone nipple shields when nursing? The kind that is like a bra, not for helping with breastfeeding. I like to wear them with certain tops but is it gonna get milk everywhere? lol also is it bad to wear them for awhile while nursing I wonder?

Answer

It depends. If they’re good quality and you’re not leaking, they’d stay on fine. So once your supply is established and baby is a little bit older, probably around 6ish months. But in the beginning you’ll definitely want to avoid them just because with the leakage they’ll definitely just slide right off. Plus babes eat every few hours so you’d be taking them off and putting them back on - they’d likely lose their stick.

Youll need something that absorbs the milk when you leak. If it just sits on your boob wet that cant possibly be good for your skin
