My SO said something like: “I didn’t have any charisma in high school, but since I developed it I have my pick (of women)”. I was like “oh really??” And he goes, “Yeah but you’re my pick.”
To me this makes it seem like he thinks I should be grateful that he “picked me.” Really pissed me off.

I feel like he was trying to be sweet/cute. I tell my fiance all the time that I know there's no way he'd leave me because he's now old (he's 41, I'm 30) and could never get back in the dating game, and I'm always technically going to be the younger women. It's true but it's a joke.

I think he was probably just picking around and giving you hell. Me and husband pick on each other like this. But if he isn’t joking, I’d definitely be a little irritated.
