Falling for a felon

I know I know probably a bad idea. But he really is a good guy. He makes me smile, makes me laugh he seems to be very honest and open with me. He always wants to see me happy he has a good spirit. I know he a felon ( I did post about it when I first meet him) did 16 years he was locked up at age 16 for shooting at another person. I know I shouldn’t like him for that alone, but he seems so nice. Idk if I should walk away or if he can be fully trusted idk if I should give him a shot but I don’t want to waste time with him if I have all these what if’s
