Has anyone done the Angel tree with the Salvation Army?

You pick and Angel off of the tree and buy the gifts for a child in need? I am thinking about doing it but I'm always skeptical because i don't trust people's intentions. I'm guessing since it's the light the Salvation Army it's legit

I just wanted to let you all know that I finally found an Angel tree. My fiancé and I picked 6 children and went to target right away to purchase stuff. The best money we ever spent and I'm so happy we did it. A bike, clothes, bedding, make up, hair straightener,diapers, wipes and so much more. So happy to know Christmas morning these children will have gifts to open.

I have, but it was several years ago. I think it's a great idea & such a generous thing for you to do. I would do it &/or something similar, if I was in the position to this year. Hopefully I will be able to next year!

Please do!! I was blessed by someone doing this for me when I was a child, and it's one of those things I will never forget.. Now more than 12 years later I still rember almost every single gift I received that year from them..

I would suggest gifting clothes and shoes mainly and add a couple of toys and BOOKS :)

My daughters daisy and brownie Girl Scout troops each had a girl from the angel tree and I always try to give something be it angel tree or to the Salvation Army kettle ringers because before God blessed me with the ability to care for my family on our own we were receipents of people's generosity especially during the holidays.  It's totally legit and people a genuinely grateful.

My mom used to work for Salvation Army...I spent years getting the Christmas stuff set up with them over winter breaks. It is a good program.

Walmart does something similar, but I don't think they check... Well anything. They let whoever ask for shit. Some kids are asking for shoes and books, Barbie, baby doll. And then there are some little a holes who are asking for XBox1 games and Wii U games... What the hell! How are you asking for games.. That means you already have the $400 gaming system. I thought this was for children who didn't have anything. Not some spoiled brat and his  shitty parents trying to screw the system.

I have a few times now, but with my church. We do angel tree. It is great and i will probably do it again this year. Some people try to get more and take advantage of it, but its that way with any charity thing... i recommend doing it! :)
