June 23rd baby became a May baby
I woke at 7:30 am, had my daily cup of coffee & breakfast and then had one of the biggest poops I have ever had in my life (sorry, tmi 😬). Around 8:30 am, I started experiencing pretty painful contractions about 8 minutes apart, so I casually tracked them. Around 10 am I noticed they were closer, more like every 5 minutes, so I paid close attention and timed them for the next hour and sure enough, they were every 4 to 5 minutes, lasting 50 to 70 seconds. I got checked into the labor and delivery unit at our hospital around 11:30 am. I wasn't dilated at all upon my arrival, but they took a urine sample and hooked me up to the monitor to see if this was just more false labor, as I had been in the week before with the same thing. At 1pm, she came in and told me I was for sure in early labor by looking at the strong contractions I was now having every 3 minutes, so they gave me a shot of something to try to stop labor and had ultrasound come in to measure baby.

She checked dilation and I had progressed by 1cm in the hour since I arrived. The shot to stop labor didn't do anything to slow things down, so the nurse gave me a steroid shot to help baby's lungs and told me she would be back in an hour to check me again. 2pm rolled around and she announced that we were having a baby today.

They began to prep me for my c-section and by 3:45 pm, I was rolled into the OR and baby girl was born just before 4:30 weighing 7lbs 4 oz and 19.5 inches long. She was born at 36 weeks 2 days, and was having some trouble keeping her oxygen up. So she will be in the nursery at least through the night so they can make sure she is breathing okay. Hopefully tomorrow she can come into the room with me. I haven't been able to see or hold her yet, but my husband has been running back and forth between my room and the nursery, and snapped a couple pictures so I can "see" her 😭❤
