Can u be induced with out baby being engaged

I'm getting my sweep today was supposed to have one on the 1st but babies head wasn't engaged anymore even though about 5 days earlier he was. I'm hoping his head is engaged today so I can get my sweep as I'm getting induce in aweeks time and I cant really go back and forth to my midwife's every 2 day to see if he is engaged to get the sweep I know the sweep makes labour easier and quicker (that's what I've been told) but it's the fact of will they still induce in a week if he isn't engaged they want him out at 38 weeks as I have gd and is a safety issue for him any longer there is a risk of stillbirth or other complications
