Pros & cons of induction

Hey mamas, FTM here... I’m currently 39 weeks and 2 days. I had a prenatal appointment with my doctor yesterday baby boy is measuring big (which we already knew) and healthy but is still sitting fairly high up. I haven’t had any true signs of labour yet and im not convinced that I’ve felt any contractions thus far, any cramping that I have felt usually just ends up as gas. But I have felt a lot of sharp pelvic pressure through the last week. And the odd chunks of yellow/green mucus over the last week as well. He’s suggesting that if I don’t go into labour before Monday that he’ll schedule for me to be induced on Wednesday.

Wednesday is my actual due date, I always thought that they’d suggest getting induced if baby was late or if there was a medical reason. It kind of feels like it may be out of convienence for my doctor (he’s a very busy doc in a very busy clinic which is why I think that). So I’m not sure if I should just wait it out until baby is ready or if I should go with the induction on Wednesday.

Just wondering if anybody has any experience or advice they can give me cause I’m not sure which would be better for me and baby!
