Am I overreacting? (Read description)

So my friend got HPV 2 years ago. Every time she gets retested it’s still on the test. Her last test was last Fall (half a year ago) and the HPV was still there.

Flash forward to now, she is about to go out with a guy just to sleep with him— without telling him about her STD history. I got upset and told her she should tell him beforehand or get retested before she has sex with anyone if she can’t tell them. (But he’s apparently moving soon so she doesn’t want to or care to.)

Am I in the wrong? I’ve never had HPV so I don’t know how I’d feel but I don’t think I’d risk duping someone for a one night stand and potentially pass it to them without them knowing their risks.

Two side facts: 1. HPV is supposed to last ~2 years (but I still think she should verify it’s gone first). And 2. condoms don’t protect against HPV (so if she still has it, there’s a good chance of passing it).

Should I just stay out of it though? She and I seem to have these moral arguments all the time and it’s getting exhausting.
