How much notice for party invites?

My sons second birthday is just over a month away. I have organised anything because I was holding off to see how COVID guidance would change. Now I'm worried I won't get anything organised or party invites out in time if I do manage to get one planned. 😬 As a parent, how much advance notice would you need for a party?

I would do 3-4 weeks for a kid’s birthday party. You should be ok if you get them out now. You don’t need to have it all planned, just the time and place for the invitations.

A month minimum. Our son’s birthday is in May, so we did a month notice. Our daughter’s birthday is July, so we did two months notice because summer Saturdays fill up super fast. My not yet SIL gave us 2 weeks notice for their daughter’s party (we didn’t go since it was pre-vaccine) and then never even bothered to thank us for the gift we sent.

For a kids party, a month is fine for me. But it also depends what holidays are around like corner. E.g 4th July around the corner would require more notice.
